The Internal Revenue Service has extended the tax filing season for Texas residents after winter storms wreaked havoc on the state. Instead of April 15, the tax deadline for individuals and businesses in Texas is June 15, the IRS announced Monday in a news release.
More than 13,000 evictions have been filed since a CDC moratorium was issued; more than 24,000 evictions have been filed in the Houston area since the start of the pandemic. Currently in Harris County, the outcome of an eviction trial is heavily dependent on the judge, rather than the renter's rights.
