Hurricane season has officially started. With storms already being identified and named, Lone Star Legal Aid would like to remind its client community that we are available to assist in the recovery process. Our Disaster Relief Unit has extensive experience helping families in our service area as well as those who relocated to our service area in an evacuation as a result of a major disaster.

The Disaster Relief Unit’s page on our website houses resources to help disaster survivors with things like:

  • What can FEMA do for me?
  • Insurance Steps
  • Small Business Administration Loans
  • Home Repair Fraud
  • Renter’s Rights
  • School Rights
  • Replacing Lost Documents
  • Immigrant Eligibility for Disaster Benefits
  • Disaster SNAP (food stamps),
  • Disaster Unemployment
  • What’s Your Flood Risk?

We will be hosting a live chat on Friday, June 5, 2020, at 3 PM on FB Live with our disaster advocates to discuss how to legally prepare for the recovery process in the event of a major storm. You can find us on Facebook @LoneStarLegalAid.
